About The Backcountry Firehawk
The Backcountry Firehawk is built specifically for fire suppression in remote and difficult-to-access terrain. Featuring an integrated 150-gallon water tank, PTO-driven pump system and seating for three, the Firehawk gives crews a compact firefighting platform designed for rapid response. Its integrated plumbing, equipment storage and fire-apparatus-style controls provide the capability crews need while maintaining the maneuverability of a UTV.
Platform & Core Specifications
Chassis Platform
The Backcountry Firehawk is built on the CFMOTO U10 Pro Highland XL platform, providing the power, comfort and off-road capability needed for emergency response. TNT Solutions builds on this platform with an integrated water tank, PTO-driven pump, custom plumbing, emergency lighting and controls to create a compact firefighting unit designed for demanding terrain.
Emergency Lighting System
The Firehawk features an integrated Whelen emergency lighting system designed for high visibility in a compact package. Programmable warning patterns and multiple lighting configurations allow each unit to be tailored to the department’s operational needs.
Water Capacity
The Backcountry Firehawk features an integrated 150-gallon water tank, providing substantial onboard water capacity for a compact off-road firefighting platform. The tank is incorporated into the vehicle design to help maintain balanced weight distribution while giving crews greater suppression capability between refills.
Versatile Pumping

The Backcountry Firehawk is designed for versatile fire suppression, with an integrated PTO-driven pump and custom plumbing system that supports pump-and-roll, stationary pumping and relay pumping. Crews can maintain water flow while the vehicle is moving, operate from a stationary position or supply water through longer hose lays, giving the Firehawk flexibility across a range of fire response scenarios.

Every Backcountry Firehawk water tank is integrated into a complete suppression system rather than functioning as a standalone reservoir. Internal baffling helps control water movement on steep grades and uneven terrain, while a low-draw pickup helps maintain consistent flow to the pump at challenging operating angles. Integrated fill and drain ports make refilling and maintenance straightforward, creating a balanced system designed for reliable fire suppression in demanding terrain.
Optional Track System
The Backcountry Firehawk can be equipped with a Canadian-made track system designed for demanding terrain and winter conditions. The larger footprint improves flotation, traction and weight distribution across snow, mud and uneven ground, giving crews greater access to areas conventional emergency vehicles can’t easily reach. The system is engineered for durability, reliability and year-round emergency response.
Emergency Lighting Package & Control
Whelen Core®
The Backcountry Firehawk uses the Whelen Core® control system to bring emergency lighting, scene lighting and other vehicle functions into one centralized interface. Fully programmable and configured in-house by TNT Solutions, Core allows each Firehawk to be tailored to the department’s operational needs while providing advanced diagnostics and reliable, intuitive control.
Whelen T-ION™ Lights
The Firehawk uses Whelen T-ION™ lights to provide powerful emergency warning in a compact, low-profile design. Multiple mounting and colour options allow the lighting package to be configured around each department’s needs, delivering strong visibility without adding unnecessary bulk to the vehicle.
Computer Programming & System Customization
Every Firehawk lighting and control system is programmed in-house by TNT Solutions using Whelen Command™ software. Switch logic, scene lighting, safety functions and other controls are configured around the department’s operational needs, creating an intuitive system that operates more like a full-size fire apparatus.
Expandability & Advanced Features
Whelen Core® allows the Firehawk’s control system to expand with additional features as needed. Available options include vehicle-to-vehicle synchronization, advanced diagnostics, safety flash modes and power monitoring, giving departments greater control and flexibility as their operational needs evolve.
Park, Cruise & Low Power Modes
Every Firehawk can be programmed with automatic lighting modes based on vehicle status:
- Park Mode: Adjusts the warning pattern when the vehicle is stationary for effective scene visibility.
- Cruise Mode: Automatically changes the warning pattern while the vehicle is moving.
- Low Power / Night Mode: Reduces selected lighting intensity during nighttime operations to help preserve visibility around the scene.
These programmable modes allow the lighting system to adapt automatically between driving, stationary and nighttime operations.
